![]() San Francisco photographer Dale Kistemaker opens Surface, an exhibition of new works organized by Brian Gross Fine Art, in the lobby gallery at One Post Street, San Francisco, on Monday, January 8, 2007. The show is on display through March 30. Kistemaker delves into new territory exploring the landscape in color photographs comprised of reassembled spliced images. Seen this way, landscape elements take on sweeping abstract qualities captured with precision and pristine color. Dale Kistemaker was born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1948. He received his MFA from San Francisco State University in 1975, and has been a Professor of Art at SFSU since 1988. He has participated in numerous exhibitions through-out the country, and his work is in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Oakland Museum, San Jose Museum of Art, Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento, California, and Stanford University, Stanford, California, amongst others. One Post Street is located at the intersection of Post, Market, and Montgomery Streets next to the Montgomery BART Station. Lobby hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-6pm.
